The fourth batch of ALIN Community Information Volunteers (CIVs) program attended a two week Multi-Media and Film making course held at the Kijabe Farm at Naivasha from 18th-29th May 2009. The participants included ten Community Information Volunteers from Kenya, one from Uganda, and one from Tanzania.
The aim of the training was to build capacity of the volunteers with the necessary tools, skills and practical training in video scripting, production and editing. The training was done in collaboration with the University of Leicester (UK) and the Community-based Biodiversity Conservation Films (CBCF).
During the training, the volunteers, wrote, edited and produced four films whose main theme revolved around Climate Change in Naivasha. The films have been converted into podcasts and will soon be shared through various online and offline mediums.
